About the Project

In traditional shamanic indigenous communities, psychedelic ceremonies are essential in community building and problem solving. In order to conserve the traditional uses of the psychedelic plants in these communities, the AWE foundation works to protect and support the people and their ceremonies.

The AWE foundation's projects are geared to strengthening indigenous communities whole social and cultural systems to help conserve and defend identities and diversity.

The AWE foundation believes that conserving the traditions and mystical connection of indigenous communities, this will balance the expansion of psychedelics in the west, aid the ecology of the planet, and support the mental health of our species.

Throughout the process of learning and working alongside these communities, they have identified four general ways to fulfill their mission:
1. Building or reconstructing temples
2. Acquiring tools and supplies necessary to perform ceremonies 3. Generating scholarships and educational opportunities
4. Convening councils of elders
